Wine and food itineraries

A land of flavours and excellence

Pesaro is in the heart of a land with many food and wine excellences: don’t miss the chance to taste some of these during your stay!

Starting from Agriturismo Badia, it only takes a short drive to reach towns renowned for their DOP, DOC and DOCG products, which you can enjoy in a complete menu, from starters to dessert.

Make sure you don’t miss the truffle recipes in the nearby town of Acqualagna; in various periods of the year you will also find many fairs dedicated to this marvellous local product, such as those in Pergola, Apecchio and Sant’Angelo in Vado.

In terms of cheeses, an unmissable stop is Urbino where, in addition to visiting the beautiful city, you can taste and buy the famous Casciotta DOP, ideally accompanied by a crescia sfogliata.

Another local delicacy is the Ciauscolo, the well-known spreadable cold cut from the Marche region inland.

The Metauro Valley, located between Pesaro and Urbino, is celebrated for the high quality Cartoceto extra-virgin olive oil, the first and only one to be awarded the Marche DOP certification.

All these products can be accompanied by local wines, such as the Rosso dei Colli Pesaresi, Vernaccia or the Bianchello del Metauro!

And if your meal leaves you feeling heavy, try the famous Moretta Fanese: a special coffee with an addition of Varnelli liquor, rum, brandy and lemon peel; its recipe was born in local ports: apparently the fishermen used to drink it to keep warm during cold nights at sea!
